Updating FastRender

Keeping FastRender up to date ensures you have access to the latest features, improvements, and bug fixes.


Automatic Updates (Package Manager)

If you installed FastRender via Package Manager, updates are handled automatically:

  1. Open Rhino 3D
  2. Type _PackageManager in the command line
  3. Go to the "Installed" tab
  4. Find "FastRender" in the list
  5. If an update is available, click "Update"

The Package Manager will download and install the update automatically.


Check Current Version

To check your current FastRender version:

  1. Open the FastRender interface in Rhino
  2. Click on "Settings" or "About"
  3. The version number will be displayed

Update Notifications

FastRender will notify you when updates are available:

  • A notification appears in the plugin interface
  • You'll see a badge indicating an update is ready
  • Check the Release Notes for what's new

Before Updating

Before updating, it's recommended to:

  • Save any work in progress
  • Close any active render operations
  • Note your current settings (they should be preserved)

Troubleshooting Updates

If you encounter issues after updating:

  • Restart Rhino 3D
  • Verify your API key is still active
  • Check the Troubleshooting Guide
  • Contact support if problems persist
